Good morning, beautiful friends! Tomorrow night marks the start of the New Moon in Taurus. With many of the planets in retrograde recently, it would be no surprise if your mood and emotions were scattered all over the place. I, too, have been finding myself in strange moods, bouts of sadness, and mixed emotions. But, there is a fresh start coming tomorrow.
The New Moon is a time for new beginnings. Fresh starts. Clear and meaningful intentions. It’s a beginning. Whatever crazy, strange emotions you’ve been feeling the last few weeks after the full moon, now is the time to release those feelings and thought patterns. Each month we are blessed with a new beginning. But, in that freedom, it’s important to nderstand and surrender to the power of opposites.
To create balance in our lives, we need to observe and harness the power of opposites. There is fire, and water. Air, and earth. Ebb, and flow. Taking, and releasing. Effort, and surrender. It is important to take the time to reflect and understand the power that opposites can have in order to find balance, and a connection between them. The Full Moon is a force of energy, masculine in nature. It relates to expansion, brightness, release of energy. It generates feelings that might be buried, coming to the surface. It could force you to face things that need to be faced in your life, whether you’re ready or not. It generates enthusiasm and the feelings of being extroverted. In the Full Moon, it’s a time to act on whatever goals and plans you have for yourself. It’s a time of action.
The New Moon is a feminine, yin energy. It’s a time for calm, peaceful surrender. A time to reflect within. It’s a time of cooling, a place for meditation. Personally, each new moon I feel a sense of peace when I go within. Before I started following the phases of the moon, there would times of the month where I would be withdrawn from others and wonder what was wrong with me. After I began to follow the moon cycles, ebbs and flows, I realized those times were always around the New Moon. It’s the way nature intended. I am just following Grandmother Moon. It is perfectly okay to feel withdrawn. Sometimes it’s beautiful to live inside yourself. The New Moon is also time to set a new intention for the month. What intention do you want to set for the upcoming month of May?
With May in our midsts, it’s a time of beautiful growth. The flowers are blooming. It’s spring. Where in your life can you grow and harness the blooming that the earthly Taurus New Moon is offering?
For me, it’s this. It’s this blog and all I want to offer you, my friends. It’s putting my words down for others to read on subjects that I find meaningful and important. It’s sharing what I am passionate about. It’s putting myself out there- raw and real. I want to be authentically open with you. And what better time than the nurturing new moon?
